The best Twitter tool for ghostwriters (2026)

Full disclosure: I make LinkIntel, so I'm biased. A ghostwriter's problem is different from everyone else's. You write in another person's voice, they have to approve it, and a month later you have to show them it worked. That is the deciding factor here, and it favours tools built for several accounts.

LinkIntel is last below. It is designed for a person's own account rather than for managing clients, and I say what that means for you. Typefully is first, with Tweet Hunter, Buffer and Fedica in between.

TL;DR

Typefully is the best fit for writing drafts that a client comments on. Tweet Hunter has a ghostwriting mode but only on its $200 a month Enterprise plan. Buffer Team and Fedica Research have real approval workflows. LinkIntel is for a person's own account, not client management.

  • Best for drafts a client can comment on, per client account: Typefully
  • Best for a dedicated ghostwriting mode on X: Tweet Hunter Enterprise
  • Best for approvals and branded reports at a low price: Buffer Team
  • Best for deep X metrics to show a client: Fedica

The three jobs: voice, approval and proof

Voice is mostly your own craft: a one-page sheet per client with ten of their best posts and the words they never use will do more than any tool. The tools help with the next two jobs. Approval is the client saying yes before a post goes out, ideally without email. Proof is a monthly number they believe.

That makes the structure of each tool matter more than its features. Does it keep each client's account separate? Can the client see a draft and comment? What can you export to show results?

Proving results to the client

Typefully's X analytics start on its Creator plan and include CSV download. Buffer's paid plans have exportable reports and Team adds branded reports. Fedica's advanced engagement metrics start on Grow. If you can reach a client's X analytics, X's own dashboard exports a CSV for free, up to 30 days and 3,000 posts at a time. My Twitter analytics guide explains which metrics to put in the report.

Before you promise a client a monthly report, run one sample report out of the tool you pick.

1. Typefully

Best for
Drafts a client can comment on, one social set per client
Price
Creator $99 a year; Business $18 per social set a month, billed yearly
Client approvals
Comments and roles on Business

Business adds collaborative writing, comments, Slack notifications, teams, roles and permissions and up to 50 social sets with unlimited users. One social set per client keeps their accounts separate, and the client can comment on a draft instead of replying by email. Creator-level features such as X analytics and CSV download come with it.

The catch: the pricing page lists comments and roles, not an approval step, so check that a comment is enough sign-off for your clients. At $18 per social set a month, ten clients is $180 a month on those terms.

2. Tweet Hunter

Best for
A dedicated ghostwriting mode on X
Price
Enterprise $200 a month ($167 on yearly); 7-day free trial, 30-day refund per its homepage
Client approvals
Ghostwriting mode on Enterprise

The pricing page puts ghostwriting mode, custom trained AI, unlimited AI use, priority support and unlimited X accounts on Enterprise. Its homepage also lists "ghostwriting for multiple clients from 1 Tweet Hunter account" under extras, while the pricing page places it on Enterprise, so ask which plan you need before you pay.

The catch is price and structure: $200 a month, X-only, and no approval workflow for posts that I could find. It is the nearest to a purpose-built ghostwriting product here, and it is also the most expensive way to start.

3. Buffer (Team plan)

Best for
Approvals and branded reports at a low price
Price
Team $10 per channel a month billed yearly ($12 monthly); 14-day trial
Client approvals
Approval workflows on Team

Team has unlimited team members, access levels, content approval workflows and branded reports, priced per channel. Each client's X profile is its own channel, so cost grows evenly with your client list.

The catch: nothing in it is built around voice. Its AI Assistant can adjust tone, but it is a general writing tool, and approval workflows are only on Team. It is a good fit if your clients mostly want to approve and see numbers.

4. Fedica

Best for
Deep X metrics to show a client
Price
Grow $19 a month annual ($29 monthly); Research $79 ($129 monthly)
Client approvals
Approvals on Research and Custom

Fedica lists follower growth, demographics, unfollower tracking and best times, with advanced engagement metrics from Grow. Teams, an approval workflow and roles start on Research, which includes unlimited users. Its Custom plan is described as for enterprise, influencers and agencies.

The catch: the approvals and teams are on the $79 level, and each paid plan covers one account per platform, with more addable. I found no MCP server. It is strongest on the proof job.

5. LinkIntelmine

Best for
A person's own account, not client management
Price
$39 USD a month, no free trial, 7-day refund
Client approvals
No

LinkIntel is an MCP server that gives an assistant one person's own recent X posts and metrics, X's ranking weights and references they chose, and keeps daily snapshots as a record. It has no approvals, no client separation and no reports, and it is read-only. It is designed for a person's own account rather than for managing clients.

It can still help a client who writes with an assistant themselves, using their own account. I am not offering a multi-client workflow or per-client pricing, so do not build one around it. If you are looking for a way to write for clients, use one of the tools above.

Try LinkIntel

My pick

  • Most ghostwriters starting with a few clients: Typefully Business, one social set per client, with comments for sign-off.
  • X-only and you want a ghostwriting mode: Tweet Hunter Enterprise, if $200 a month makes sense for your client count.
  • Clients want approvals and a monthly report: Buffer Team.
  • Results are your selling point: Fedica, for the metrics.
  • You write for clients: Skip LinkIntel. It is for a person's own account.

What I'd do today

  1. Write a one-page voice sheet for each client: ten best posts, words they never use, topics off limits.
  2. Decide how a client approves a post and test that in a trial before you rely on it.
  3. Run a sample monthly report from the tool you are considering, and show it to a friendly client.
  4. Price your real number of clients in each plan before you commit.

Questions

What is the best tool for ghostwriting on X?
Typefully's Business plan fits most ghostwriters: collaborative writing, comments, roles and one social set per client. Tweet Hunter has a ghostwriting mode on its Enterprise plan. Buffer Team and Fedica Research have approval workflows.
Can I ghostwrite for several clients from one account?
Tweet Hunter's homepage lists ghostwriting for multiple clients from one account under extras, while its pricing page puts ghostwriting mode on Enterprise. Check with Tweet Hunter which plan covers it before you buy.
How do I show a client the results?
Use a tool's export: Typefully's CSV download on Creator and up, Buffer's exportable reports on paid plans, or Fedica's advanced metrics on Grow and up. X's own dashboard also exports a CSV for free, if you can reach the client's analytics.
Is LinkIntel for ghostwriters?
Not for client management. It is designed for a person's own X account, read-only, with no approvals or reports. A client can use it for their own account.
Does AI help a ghostwriter?
It can speed up first drafts, but voice comes from examples of the client's own posts. Paste ten of their best posts into your assistant before asking for anything.

LinkIntel is $39 USD a month, with no free trial and a full refund within 7 days of your first payment. It reads your X results and never publishes.
