Best time to post on Twitter, from your own posts
Drop in the CSV that X’s own analytics exports and see which days and hours your posts did best, in your time zone. No signup. It runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
How to get your X Post Activity export
Open X's Post Activity Dashboard
Register or sign in at analytics.x.com with your X account and open the Posts tab. With an X ads account you can use ads.x.com instead: Analytics, then Post activity. Both are free.
Choose the dates
It shows the last 28 days. To change that, click the date range in the top-right corner. One export covers up to 30 days and 3,000 posts.
Export and drop it in
Select Export to download the .csv, then drop it in above. Times in the file are UTC, and this tool converts them to your time zone. The file never leaves your device.

From the makers
See every post, not one export.
Connect X and LinkIntel records your own posts’ results daily, so Claude can tell you what worked and when. It costs $39 USD a month, billed monthly in advance, with no free trial.
Reading the results
How to read your best times
Each number is a median of your own posts, and a slot needs a few posts before it is named.
- Engagement rate
- Engagements divided by impressions, which is X’s formula. Engagements include clicks anywhere on a post, such as links, media or the profile photo, per X’s help page. Some benchmarks divide by follower count instead, so do not compare figures without checking.
- Why medians
- Each square, day and hour shows the median of the posts in it, not the average. One post that goes viral drags an average up and makes its slot look like the best time. The median is the typical post, so it barely moves.
- What gets ranked
- Days and hours are ranked once they hold at least 2 posts. A square with fewer is drawn with a dashed outline and is never named best. The heatmap uses 3-hour blocks, and the best hours list uses single hours. Switch to impressions to rank by how widely posts were seen instead.
Your audience
Why generic best-time charts may not fit you
Your own results are the better starting point.
A chart of the best time to post on Twitter usually averages many accounts across many time zones. Your followers are in particular places, with their own routines and reasons for following you, and that is the audience that counts. Your own export shows when your posts did well with them. It is still one window of at most 30 days, and a post’s results depend on much more than the hour, so use the pattern as a guess to test, not a rule.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
When is the best time to post on Twitter (X)?
It depends on your audience: where your followers are, when they are online and what they follow you for. Published charts average many accounts, so they may not fit yours. This tool reads your own X analytics export and shows when your own posts did best.
Is this free and private?
Yes. It is free and needs no signup or account. The file is read and analyzed in your browser, and nothing from it is sent to a server. Close the tab and it is gone. The site may record that a file was analyzed, but never anything inside it.
How do I get my X analytics export?
Register or sign in at analytics.x.com and open the Posts tab, or, with an ads account, go to ads.x.com and choose Analytics, then Post activity. Both are free. The dashboard shows the last 28 days; click the date range in the top-right corner to change it, then select Export. Each export covers up to 30 days and 3,000 posts, with timestamps in UTC.
Why are the times in my timezone and not UTC?
X exports timestamps in UTC, which is hard to act on. The tool converts every post into your browser's time zone, including daylight saving for that date, so a time here means the time on your own clock. A post at 23:30 UTC on a Monday is already Tuesday in Tokyo. You can switch to UTC or another zone and the results update. If most of your followers live in a different zone, try theirs.
How many posts do I need?
There is no magic number, but more is better. A day or an hour is only ranked once it holds at least 2 posts, and the tool labels how far to trust the pattern: low under 15 dated posts, medium from 15 and higher from 60. One export covers at most 30 days, so most slots hold few posts. Posting at different times is how you fill the gaps.
Does posting time affect the X algorithm?
X publishes its ranking code, and the weights on LinkIntel's X algorithm page come from how that code scores engagement on a post. This tool does not predict reach, and it cannot tell you whether a time caused a result. It shows when your own posts did well, which is a hint to test.
