The best Twitter tool for agencies (2026)

Full disclosure: I make LinkIntel, so I'm biased. For an agency I have an easy job, because the honest answer is that LinkIntel is not your tool. It is built around one person's own X account, and an agency's deciding factor is the opposite: many client accounts, an approval step and a report you can send to the client.

So LinkIntel is last below, and the top spots go to tools built for client work. I ranked them on the vendors' own pages, and I say what each costs when you add accounts.

TL;DR

Buffer's Team plan is the best value for a small agency. SocialPilot adds client management, white-label reports and client approval. Sprout Social is the fullest and the priciest. LinkIntel is not an agency tool.

  • Best for a small agency that wants approvals at a low price: Buffer Team
  • Best for client management, client approval and white-label reports: SocialPilot
  • Best for a full suite with client groups and reporting: Sprout Social
  • Best for deep X analysis and approvals: Fedica Research
  • Best for writing-heavy collaboration across many accounts: Typefully Business

What agencies need that creators do not

A solo creator needs a queue. An agency needs the same queue many times over, kept apart per client, with someone senior able to approve a post before it goes out, and a report at the end of the month that the client will read. Each of those narrows the field fast.

Cost also behaves differently. Creators pay per tool, while agencies pay per account or per seat, so the same tool can be cheap for three clients and costly for thirty. Compare tools at your real number of accounts, not at the headline price.

How I judged them

I looked for three things on each vendor's own pages: how many client accounts a plan covers, whether it has an approval step, and whether it produces client-ready reports. Where a page did not say, I say so rather than guess.

Where an agency also wants an assistant to draft, Buffer's, SocialPilot's, Typefully's and OpenTweet's MCP servers can schedule. For that setup see the Claude MCP guide.

1. Buffer (Team plan)

Best for
A small agency that wants approvals at a low price
Price
Team $10 per channel a month billed yearly ($12 monthly); 14-day trial
Approvals
Yes, on the Team plan

Team adds unlimited team members, access levels, content approval workflows and branded reports to Essentials. Pricing is per channel, with volume discounts past 10 channels, and Buffer pitches it to agencies directly. It manages multiple X profiles.

The catch: approval workflows are only on Team, per-channel pricing grows with every client network, and its reports are branded rather than white-label as far as the pages say. For a handful of X clients it is the best value I found.

2. SocialPilot

Best for
Client management, client approval and white-label reports
Price
Essentials $17 a month annual ($20 monthly) for 5 accounts; Premium $85 annual ($100 monthly)
Approvals
Client approval on Premium and up

SocialPilot is built for agencies: Client Management, White Label and Client Approval (Premium and up). Premium covers 20 accounts and 6 users and lists advanced analytics and white-label reports. Extra accounts cost $4 a month, and its Twitter (X) scheduler supports threads and bulk scheduling of up to 500 tweets from a CSV.

The catch: the entry plan has 1 user and 5 accounts, so the client features sit on the more expensive plans. It also has an MCP server that can create and schedule posts, but I could not confirm that it reads analytics. Trial is 14 days.

3. Sprout Social

Best for
A full suite with client groups and reporting
Price
Essentials $79 per seat a month annual ($99 monthly); 30-day free trial
Approvals
Yes, an approval workflow

Sprout lists custom groups and permissions for client-specific groups, a shared content calendar, approval workflows, client-ready reports, competitor reports and post-level reporting. For X it has publishing, a Smart Inbox for mentions and replies, and X reports on follower growth, engagement and impressions.

The catch is price. It is per seat, the entry plan caps at 5 social profiles and unlimited profiles start on Professional at $299. It is the fullest toolkit here, and the one an agency doing mostly X will pay most for.

4. Fedica (Research plan)

Best for
Deep X analysis plus approvals
Price
Research $79 a month annual ($129 monthly)
Approvals
Yes, on Research and Custom

Teams, an approval workflow, roles and permissions and a Publishing API are on Research and Custom only, and Research includes unlimited users. It also lets you analyse any X account, find common followers and listen on keywords and hashtags, which helps with pitch research. Its X analytics are the deepest on this list.

The catch: each paid plan covers 15 accounts with 1 per platform, and the team features start at the $79 level. I found no MCP server, so an assistant can reach it only through the API.

5. Typefully (Business plan)

Best for
Writing-heavy collaboration across many accounts
Price
Business $18 per social set a month, billed yearly
Approvals
Comments and roles, no approval step listed

Business adds collaborative writing, comments, Slack notifications, teams, roles and permissions, higher API rate limits, up to 50 social sets and unlimited users. Writers and clients can work on drafts together.

The catch: I did not see an approval step or client reporting listed on the pricing page, so it fits an agency that wants a shared editor more than one that needs sign-off and reports.

6. OpenTweet (Agency plan)

Best for
Multi-brand X posting with an MCP server
Price
Agency $49 a month; 7-day free trial
Approvals
None stated for posts

OpenTweet labels Agency "for agencies and multi-brand teams": up to 10 X accounts, 300 posts a day, 25 API keys and the X Analytics dashboard, plus its 43-tool MCP server.

The catch: I found no team seats, post approvals or client reports stated. Its approval step applies to DM campaigns only. It is an inexpensive multi-account poster, not a client-service platform.

7. LinkIntelmine

Best for
One person's own account, not client management
Price
$39 USD a month, no free trial, 7-day refund
Approvals
No

LinkIntel is not an agency tool. It is an MCP server that gives an assistant one person's own X posts and metrics, X's ranking weights and references they chose. It has no client management, no approvals and no reports, and it is read-only, so it cannot post for anyone.

Where it can still help: a client who writes with an assistant can connect their own account themselves. I am not claiming a way to manage several clients from one login, so do not plan an agency workflow around it.

Try LinkIntel

My pick

  • A small agency with a few X clients: Buffer's Team plan. Approvals and unlimited users at a low per-channel price.
  • You need client approval and white-label reports: SocialPilot Premium.
  • You want one suite for every network and a big reporting layer: Sprout Social, if you can pay per seat.
  • X analysis is your selling point: Fedica Research.
  • You want LinkIntel for client work: Do not. It is built for one person's own account.

What I'd do today

  1. List your clients and how many X accounts each has, then price Buffer Team, SocialPilot and Sprout at that count.
  2. Write down what clients sign off on and what they get each month. Check each tool has that exact step.
  3. Start the free trial of your top two (Buffer 14 days, SocialPilot 14 days, Sprout 30 days).
  4. Run one real client's week through each, including the approval and the report.

Questions

What is the best Twitter management tool for a small agency?
Buffer's Team plan is the best value I found: unlimited team members, approval workflows and branded reports, priced per channel. SocialPilot is stronger on client management and white-label reports.
Which tool has client approval workflows?
Buffer (Team), SocialPilot (Premium and up), Sprout Social and Fedica (Research and Custom). Typefully Business has comments and roles instead of an approval step. OpenTweet's approval step applies to DM campaigns only.
Can an agency use LinkIntel?
Not for client management. It is built around one person's own X account and has no approvals or reports. A client who writes with an assistant can connect their own account.
Which of these work with an AI assistant?
Buffer, SocialPilot, Typefully and OpenTweet have MCP servers that can create or schedule posts. Fedica and Sprout list none on the pages I read.
How do prices scale with client accounts?
Buffer charges per channel, SocialPilot adds $4 a month per extra account, Sprout charges per seat and Typefully per social set. Price your real account count in each before you decide.

LinkIntel is $39 USD a month, with no free trial and a full refund within 7 days of your first payment. It reads your X results and never publishes.
